Huntington’s Disease (HD) is a disabling, inherited, neurodegenerative disorder that can causes loss of cognitive ability. Large amounts of data are required in order to support efforts to ways of treating or managing cognitive symptoms in HD, but such datasets usually take years to collect. The goal of my thesis was to create a fully remote, computerised, assessment system that would allow rapid and convenient collection of cognitive data in HD. Our findings demonstrated that remote assessment in HD is feasible and produced reliable, valid, and scientifically meaningful data on the functioning of people with the expanded HD repeat.
