Thesis examines the physical and chemical properties of formaldehyde-methanol water mixtures and metal-organic frameworks (MOF) at molecular length scale. Both liquid phase and MOF-derived materials have shown potential for efficient CO2 conversion to valuable chemicals. We report the molecular structure of these materials which was not understood before.
