Underwater imaging with applications such as marine geology and underwater navigation is challenging due to light attenuation, scattering, and non-uniform lighting. Various factors in underwater imaging are investigated in this study, including the effect of water turbulence, salinity, and turbidity. The experimental results are analyzed based on reflection ratio and range error accuracy. Moreover, the effect of water turbidity and wavelength of laser source are further studied in underwater single-pixel imaging systems with block compressive sensing technique. The presented findings build a comprehensive understanding of target reflection with the influence of medium effect for the underwater object detection system.
