Tim Campbell

PhD Candidate / Research Assistant (Psychology)

Gippsland VIC

I am a PhD student with Monash University School of Rural Health (MRH), based in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. My research iinvestigates how Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) can best respond when a young person attending for mental health care has a parent who also experiences mental illness, with a focus on the perspectives of people who have lived experience in these circumstances. This research is embedded within a larger project of MRH working toward better understanding mental health within the context of family, and the development of family-oriented interventions aimed at supporting both parents and children to recover from mental illness. Alongside my PhD project, I work with Monash University as a Research Assistant on the Psychological Impacts Stream of the Hazelwood Health Study. This longitudinal study investigates health outcomes for children and adults in the local community subsequent to the mine fire that occurred at Hazelwood in 2014.
