Janette Burke is currently Interim University Librarian. Ms Burke joined Monash in 2002 and was the Director, Resources, Monash University Library. Prior to her current appointment she held various positions and worked in several universities, including the University of Wollongong Library and the University of Central Queensland. Ms Burke has played a pivotal role in the refurbishment of the Sir Louis Matheson Library. She also successfully led the refurbishment of the Berwick Library and the design of both the Monash Sunway campus and Monash South Africa libraries. Under Ms Burke’s leadership, several major applications have been implemented, such as Learning Capture, Alma (the Library Management System) and Aspire (the reading list platform). She was also co-leader of the recent review of eLearning resources and tools for the University. Ms Burke initiated and continues to lead a Victoria-wide library mentoring scheme and is on the Board of Directors for CAVAL Pty
