Constance de Silva

Connie de Silva completed her PhD (Linguistics) in 2020 at Monash University. Her primary research field is the development of press advertising language (1850s-1950s) in the Australian context - with focus on patent medicines and nutritional supplements. Her other research interests are film studies and English Language Teaching (ELT). Previous to her current research engagement, she worked as an editor and writer in the publishing and communications industry; and as an ELT professional. Connie holds an MA Applied Linguistics (Monash University) and GradCertJourn (Griffith University). Her undergraduate majors are English Literature and English Linguistics (Monash University).
