Chief Executive Officers’ physical cues relate to their observe personality. CEOs occupy the most central leadership role at the firm as they are principally in charge of strategy setting. Literature acknowledges that CEOs insert themselves into firm decisions through their personalities. CEO personality matter as they serve an important organizational role, yet examining CEO personality ‘up close’ is difficult. To overcome this challenge scholars have started to observe CEO features from a distance. Some of these observed features are physical features and others are observable through their actions and behaviors. First, this dissertation investigates to what extent do expectations forms from physical cues align with the expected actions, and then empirically examine two elements of observed CEO personality, dominance and narcissism.
