This thesis integrates the work recovery and leadership behaviors literature by adopting a thesis-by-manuscript approach. Specifically, this thesis consists of three independent academic works that have been submitted to renowned management journals. The first paper is a systematic literature review that consolidates current at-work recovery literature. The second and third papers utilize a daily diary approach to examine the effects of leaders' daily off-work and at-work recovery on their personal helping toward followers, respectively. Upon completing these three manuscripts, this thesis contributes to the literature by demonstrating the daily variation and correlates of leaders’ recovery and helping behaviors.
