"I Just Went Gay All of a Sudden": Homosexuality in Hollywood During the Pre-Code Era

This thesis examines how Hollywood films depicted homosexuality during the period of 1930 to 1934, a time known as the Pre-Code era. It finds that homosexuality was deliberately included in films from this period, reflecting social changes of the time for audiences.
