thesis
posted on 2022-11-16, 03:37 authored by VICKI KATERINA TSANAKTSIDIS
This thesis explores 13 women's reflections about their experiences of money in heterosexual partnership. It examines how women describe their relationships to money during major life transitions, specifically cohabitation, buying a home and having children. This thesis found that women adopt a number of relational and emotion management strategies incorporating bank accounts, communication strategies and the practice of thrift in order to negotiate the balance between jointness and separateness and retain their sense of independence and equality.
