The development of gender sensitivity has created an influx in demand for diversified terminology and representation to be adopted within healthcare professions. This thesis aims to examine gender sensitivity in teaching and learning for healthcare students and educators in an Australian context. This research obtained a broad depiction of the current landscape of the representation of gender sensitivity within healthcare education from the perspectives of healthcare students, student advocate groups and the educators. Results of this thesis identify a need for further education and resources to be distributed to both educators and healthcare students. In summation, recommendations are given as a possible pathway to improve gender sensitivity within healthcare education.
