Weather systems and their roles in rainfall variability and extremes in Australia

Weather systems play an important role in the Earth system by producing rainfall needed for agriculture, ecosystems, and human activities. This thesis examines a wide range of rainfall-producing weather systems and their influences on heavy rainfall events that are important during different stages of drought in Australia.
