Using Cystine Peptidomimetics To Uncover Mechanism of Action

thesis
posted on 2023-09-24, 23:12 authored by ADAM CHRISTOPHER KENNEDY
The shape and structure of peptides determine their biological activity. This thesis examined the role of important cyclising structures, called disulfide bridges, within peptides on biological activity. By replacing these bridges with more stable alternatives, this thesis demonstrates critical information into designing new potent therapeutic drugs for both pain relief and use in easing childbirth.
