Wall-bounded turbulent flows have a hierarchy of organised motions called coherent structures. Understanding the behaviour of these coherent structures will contribute to improved turbulence modelling and the advancement in flow control strategies. Turbulent flows subjected to adverse pressure gradients (APG) are more commonly encountered in many engineering applications such as turbine blades, diffusers and aerofoils. This study elucidated the characteristics and geometrical properties of organised coherent structures characterised by uniform momentum zones (UMZs) in an APG turbulent boundary layers, providing insights into the behaviour of these zones under the influence of pressure gradient and thereby extending our knowledge in wall-bounded turbulent flows.
