Understanding the Nature of Business Intelligence Systems

This research was motivated by a relative lack of understating of the nature of BI system use and outcomes in both the BI industry and academic research. High-quality published research on the topic of BI system use and outcomes is limited. This research provides insights about the nature of BI system use and outcomes that are applicable to BI practice. In addition, this research has contributed to IS theory with the development of models of BI system use and outcomes. It has proposed and provided evidence of an alternative pattern of indirect BI use that can be efficient and effective.
