With the increasing application of nanomedicine, it is essential to have an in-depth understanding of the interaction between nanoparticles (NPs) and biomacromolecules, especially blood proteins to unravel the behaviour of NPs in a complex biological milieu. My research aims to evaluate the protein coronas of both naturally occurring nanomaterials (amyloid fibrils) and engineered nanomaterials, (gold nanoparticles) to comprehensively understand the factors influencing the formation of plasma protein coronas, their composition, and their cellular outcomes, where the findings implicated the role of protein corona of amyloid fibrils in hindering the immune recognition of Aβ amyloid fibrils and their cross seeding with IAPP and in the modulating the paracellular pathway associated with gold nanomaterials.
