Understanding the interactions between engineered nanomaterials and biological systems has become the focus of research in recent years, especially in view of possible implications regarding their biosafety and applications in medicine. This thesis investigates the interactions of zinc oxide nanoparticles with human skin cells, and provides a better understanding of cellular interactions with engineered nanomaterials.
