This thesis contains three self-contained chapters. In Chapter One, we go to the races. We come last, and learn that this will never be published. We also discover the deep \bf{Origins of Misogyny}. Chapter Two shows that \bf{There is No Crowding Out} in the private responses of individuals in the face of government intervention. Chapter Three is a \bf{SpaceTime Odyssey} which shows that \it{De Gustibus Est Disputandum}, apart from when \it{De Gustibus Non Est Disputandum}. We parameterise these differences and so bring clarity to the question of when and under what circumstances preferences are stable.
