Climate change is causing higher sea level at coastal locations around the world. In this thesis we develop a framework to identify the locations that are most at risk of very frequent coastal flooding as sea-level rise continues. Historically, coastal flood impacts have been rare and mostly associated with extreme weather. We show that sea-level rise is changing this, having already increased the number of coastal floods that can occur during calm conditions. This thesis shows that in coming decades these sunny-day floods are expected to become the main cause of coastal flood impacts around Australia.
