In parasites, anthelmintic resistance is a major concern globally. There is a high demand for new anthelmintics with new chemical entities and mode of action to circumvent this problem. Parasitic helminths (worms) can be targeted with small-molecule drugs, either directly, or via the attack on bacterial endosymbionts of the genus Wolbachia present in some species. This thesis focuses on the development of lead drug-like molecules with potent anthelmintic activity.
