Towards improved crop growth and yield estimation: observation constrained wheat modelling

thesis
posted on 2020-10-28, 03:08 authored by YUXI ZHANG
The main contribution of this research was to comprehensively and systematically explore the assimilation of all potential wheat and soil states into the crop model APSIM-Wheat. This research found that the assimilation of ground measured or remotely sensed observations of wheat states could improve yield estimation under both circumstances when the model is calibrated or not. The assimilation of fine-resolution remotely sensed data into the crop models has the potential to address temporal and within-field spatial variability, with an insight into the causes of these variabilities.
