Towards decolonising biodesign: an onto-systemic toolkit for de-linking and repositioning biodesigners

thesis
posted on 2023-11-26, 20:32 authored by HANNAH JEAN BURRELL
Hannah's research investigates how biodesigners might de-link from colonial thought and repositioned under Indigenist frameworks in order to support biocultural regeneration. It brings together literature from biodesign, decolonising Natural Resource Management (NRM) and Indigenous Research Methodologies. Through this research, Hannah has developed a toolkit that includes a conceptual model, blueprint and canvases that can be used by biodesigners to develop a critical-reflexive and onto-systemic lens to identify features of worldmaking.
