The aim of this research is to investigate and develop methods to achieve Gb/s data rate in VLC systems. We proposed for the first time CWDM-VLC system to increase the number of channels in VLC and achieved more than 7 Gb/s downlink data rate. We developed InGaN/GaN-based multiple quantum well (MQW) LEDs coupled with the nano-lens structures to increase LED modulation bandwidth. This structure helps to implement CWDM-VLC in practical applications. We also proposed a hybrid RoF-CWDM-VLC model combined with 5G-mmWave to increase the uplink data rate to 2.5 Gb/s.
