The western legal response to sorcery in colonial Papua and New Guinea

How the introduced common law in the Australian territories of Papua and New Guinea dealt with accusations of sorcery and with violent crime arising from the belief that people were sorcerers, focusing in particular on the decisions of judges; and comparing the situation with the historical response in England and the contemporary response in other parts of the British Empire, especially in colonial Kenya.
