This doctoral dissertation contributes to the field of Translation Studies by way of presenting a French translation of Thomas A. Roy’s 1977 novel The Curse of the Turtle and an exegesis which examines representations of Aboriginality in Australian children's literature. In this project which combines theory and practice, the translation is simultaneously object and subject of study, bringing theoretical considerations and questions to the fore, the answers to which are subsequently incorporated within the text.
