The body's mechanism of removing blood clots in response to injury also has important effects on the immune response. This unique relationship was explored in models of brain injury, different forms of blood diseases and in rare complications following some COVID-19 vaccinations. This thesis shows that treatments that change the body’s control of blood clot removal may also be harnessed to improve the immune response.
