Acute myeloid leukaemia is a blood cancer affecting people of all ages. The treatment requires long hospital stays and patients remain unwell from the side effects even after treatment has finished. There may be unexpected costs, such as for travel, parking, medication or doctors fees and the treatment and disease affect patients' ability to earn an income. This thesis seeks to understand how people are affected by these factors both personally and financially.
