This thesis reveals that an enzyme involved in the dynamic regulation of phosphoinositides plays a critical role in regulating systemic energy metabolism via regulating skeletal muscle energy metabolism. This suggests that manipulation of this enzyme may be developed as a promising therapeutic strategy for the treatment of metabolic disorders.
