The evolution of public pension regulation in china: regulatory responsiveness and system reflexivity in a changing social environment, 1949-2009

This thesis examines the evolution of the Chinese public pension system within the changing social environment of China. It identifies a number of institutional characteristics and limitations underlying the public pension regulatory system, and explains how these contribute to its deficiency in responding to the social changes in China.
