This thesis explores the effect of mindfulness meditation practice as applied to pre-service music teachers. The utility of the practice is identified in relation to their music practice, performance, teaching and learning, as well as the flow-on effect into other areas of their lives such as stress and anxiety reduction, and relationship enhancement. The findings from this study hold promise pertaining to the efficacy and relevance of mindfulness meditation practice as part of pre-service music teacher education program.
