The burden of urban heat and mosquito vectors across tropical cities and their informal settlements

thesis
posted on 2022-12-13, 22:19 authored by EMMA ELIZABETH RAMSAY
This thesis finds that chronic heat exposure and abundant dengue-transmitting mosquitoes add to the existing health burden of people who live in tropical informal settlements. Ongoing climate warming and urbanisation will worsen health outcomes for urban dwellers. Integrated solutions are required to build climate resilience and consider the interdependencies between human and environmental health.
