This Thesis explored the usefulness of two dual diagnosis tools and their effect on the mental health workforce. A mixed methods practice based approach was used. The two tools were the Reasons for Use Package (RFUP) and the Before During After harm reduction tool (BDA). Both tools were reported to enhance worker engagement, knowledge and confidence in dual diagnosis work with service users, and use was sustained over several years.
