The Role of the BAFF/APRIL System in the Biology of NK and iNKT cells

thesis

BAFF and APRIL are two key chemical molecules which signal certain immune cells to develop and grow, to perform their functions, or to live or to die. This thesis examines the role of the BAFF/APRIL system in two cancer-fighting cells called natural killer cells and natural killer T cells. A better understanding of the influence that BAFF and APRIL have on these cells may create an opportunity for the development of new treatments against cancer and other immune disorders.
