The movement for the Higher Education of women in Victoria grew from the efforts of a few men who had been educated at one or other of the liberal institutions of Great Britain and Ireland. These men, with the help of a very few women, endeavoured to achieve for the movement in Victoria, the same objectives that had been gained in Britain.
