This research focused on the mandated adoption and implementation of an academic information system at an Indonesian University, where a high amount of resistance was shown by the academics as the users. Using an interpretive case study, this research applied a framework for innovation adoption and implementation to investigate the case at the University. This involves the exploration of the multilevel perspective of the actors involved, including the academics, the executives, and the administrative staff. Semi-structured interviews were used as the main technique during data collection, supported by documentation and physical artefacts to corroborate the findings.
