The Management and Indirect Impacts of Fire Regimes

My thesis aims to investigate the indirect impacts and management of fire regimes,
with a particular lens on reptiles in mallee Victoria. We know that reptiles are
significantly impacted by both natural and anthropogenic fires, but we have a limited
understanding of the mechanisms that drive post-fire population fluctuations. I
attempt to dig further into potential drivers, investigating indirect impacts of fires,
post-fire predation and genetic repercussions of fire. Given the importance of
science in conservation management, I endeavour to present my research questions
in the context of management also.
