The Long-Term Retention of Heavy Metals in Biofiltration Systems

Biofiltration is a commonly applied stormwater treatment technology. Biofiltration system removes heavy metals and nutrients from the urban runoff. This thesis studied in depth the long-term fate of heavy metals within the biofiltration systems in both field and laboratory scale, as well as the role of various plant species in the removal of heavy metals.
