The Lived Experiences of Employability for Australian University International IT Graduates: Challenges, Learning and Agency

thesis
posted on 2024-09-15, 22:59 authored by Minh Thuan Nguyen
This research examined the lived experiences and perceptions of international information technology students in Australia. Specifically, it focused on the challenges the students encountered, the learning they experienced, and the agency they exercised during their education and job search. Emphasising the concept of change, the study investigated how employability was shaped by internal and external factors in the absence of familial support. Key findings underscored the stressors induced by change and their effects on emotions, acquisition of skills, and employment prospects. Critical areas were identified for the development of personal and educational strategies to understand and enhance international graduate employability.
