The Development of a Personalised Multimedia System for Individuals with Dementia

This research aimed to propose and develop a response to challenges posed by the common symptoms of dementia prevalent in residents at aged-care facilities, in the form of a non-medicinal intervention. The outcome was a personalised multimedia system consisting of specially considered information architecture and a dedicated physical dimension. Its purpose was to provide reminiscence, personalised music, simulated presence and autonomous use to individuals with mild, moderate or severe dementia.
