This mixed methods research explored student and mental health practitioner responses to ‘cultural humility’ learning and training. Cultural humility encourages and promotes practitioners’ life-long learning, in deeply exploring their own values and belief systems. This is aimed at encouraging health education to address the breakdown of personal stigmas, racial bias, negative stereotyping and discrimination. Research results showed practitioners and students responded positively to cultural humility. This is hopeful as it is aimed greater self- awareness in practice will assist to ensure more accurate assessment, diagnosis and therapeutic outcomes for service users in the health, and mental health fields.
