Cancer survivors with poor emotion regulation are vulnerable to elevated anxiety and depressive symptoms. This thesis discusses the development and assessment of a multi-module, emotion-focused, and internet-delivered psychological intervention—CanCope Mind—to improve cancer survivors’ emotion regulation and anxiety and depressive symptoms. The research comprises two phases: (1) piloting each isolated intervention module in four pilot studies; and (2) running a randomised controlled trial to assess the efficacy of the entire intervention compared to an active control intervention. The results demonstrate that CanCope Mind shows promise in improving global emotion dysregulation, specific emotion regulation strategies, and mental health symptoms.
