Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system surges the global energy usage and requires stringent needs to enhance heat transfer performances. Recent investigations revealed that the implementation of fractal insert is able to generate favorable turbulence structure to promote thermal dissipation. However, the pronounced fractal bar thickness unavoidably induces detrimental flow blockage that reduces its potential for maximum thermal rejection. Thus, current research explores on the alteration to fractal designs in heightening fractal-induced hydrodynamics to augment plate-fin forced convection. This could facilitate the establishment of higher efficiency heat exchangers, such that sustainable energy advancement can be achieved in foreseeable future.
