Texture formation in magnetostrictive Fe-Ga alloy fabricated by laser powder bed fusion

thesis
posted on 2024-05-09, 00:39 authored by RENKANG HUO
Texture is a critical factor in the dimensional change of Fe-Ga alloy when it is exposed to a magnetic field. Utilising 3D printing for preparation of Fe-Ga alloy may lead to an enhancement of this deformation if the texture formation is controlled. However, little has been studied on the effect of 3D printing on the microstructural and magnetic properties of Fe-Ga alloys. This thesis develops a 3D printed Fe-Ga sample with the desired texture by manipulating the processing parameters.
