Synthesis of Graphene Oxide (GO)-coated microbubbles for Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) removal from aqueous solutions

thesis
posted on 2020-09-02, 04:14 authored by MUHAMMAD SHAFIQ YAHYA
Today, graphene oxide (GO) has emerged as a fascinating material and has since attracted intensive research in both fundamental science and technology developments. In this research study, the feasibility of coating microbubbles with GO was successfully shown. Following the successful production of GO-coated microbubbles, this research then focused on investigating the effectiveness of GO-coated microbubbles in environmental remediation to remove pollutants such as Polycyclic Aromatic Hydracarbons (PAHs) from aqueous environments via flotation technology. Overall, this research study proved that GO-coated microbubbles could be synthesised and GO-coated microbubbles significantly improved PAH removal efficiency via flotation technology.
