Synthesis and characterization of high performance aliphatic polyurea composites for corrosion protection

thesis
posted on 2023-06-29, 09:54 authored by KHANISYA PALANIANDY
The success in developing high performance material lies in deep mastery of the interplay between the material’s constituents. This thesis establishes the relationship between key components in polyurea and the resultant strength, flexibility, and time-dependent properties. Thorough investigations on the effect of integrating nano- and micro-sized reinforcing particles on the material performance are detailed. As a result, a high performance aliphatic polyurea nanocomposite with excellent corrosion protection and high durability in saline environment is developed. The findings of this thesis provide valuable insights for the design of high-performance industrial coatings.
