The fused heterocyclic systems related to the pyrazolopyrimidine skeleton also fall within the area of the thesis's interest. Several new efficient methods for the preparation of these compounds were developed. More than 150 novel compounds were prepared and studied. Some promising antileukemic compounds were identified.
