In this Thesis, we explored how to leverage the valuable properties of polynorepinephrine (PNE) that have been discovered thus far to develop new functional materials and systems. In doing so, we fabricated and characterised PNE nanoparticles, coating films, norepinephrine (NE) derived carbon dots, and PNE-stabilised microcapsules. We explored the utility of these PNE or NE based materials for drug delivery, bacterial elimination, hemoglobin detection, metal ion reduction and capsule formation.
