This thesis explores how universities can support community-based organisations (CBOs) in their efforts to engage multicultural communities using digital media. This research included interviews with nonprofit leaders and practitioners, as well as two focused case studies. The first case study examined a program assisting CBOs in applying for grants, while the second case study involved creating an online community where these organisations could share knowledge and strategies to use grants for media production. My research identifies how universities can play a key role in empowering CBOs, enhancing their digital skills, and facilitating effective community engagement in multicultural contexts. This work contributes to understanding the evolving role of universities in community engagement, emphasising the importance of building digital literacy and fostering collaborative learning in today’s digital world.
