With growing health consciousness, the demand for therapeutic monoclonal antibodies has surged. Meeting this high demand poses significant challenges in manufacturing. Traditional methods are inadequate, and a new membrane chromatography technique is pivotal in addressing this issue. This method leverages synthetic macroporous and microporous membranes as chromatographic media, mitigating several problems associated with packed bed chromatography. Achieving uniform distribution of ligands or copolymers on the membrane backbone is crucial. The ultimate goal is to combine the benefits of these membranes, along with effective ligand or copolymer distribution, to achieve superior protein separation performance and high production yields.
