This thesis uses recently-acquired mineral exploration data sets (geophysics, drilling, petrophysics, assays and geochronology) to interpret the stratigraphy and tectono-magmatic history of the covered, Palaeo-to Mesoproterozoic Central Curnamona Province. The interpretation is presented as an interpretative solid geology map and used as context to assess the likely controls on known copper mineralisation in the area. The potential for the Central Curnamona Province to host a world class iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) deposit is also considered in light of the new geological understanding.
